The collection consists of two handwritten letters from V. Killinger, Karlsruhe, Germany to M.W. Tartt, Springfield, County Dorset, England. Includes: 23 April 1838, a short letter accompanying a gift of books, promoting their friendship and love of literature; and 17 April 1840, a long letter, effusive over their friendship, penitent about his long silence, containing news of his life and family in Carlsruhe, including his having become editor of the Carlsruhe Gazette, and his love of literature.
